RL8226 fluoroelastomer coated amorphous silica cloth is used in gasketing and sealing applications where superior resistance to heat and chemicals is required. It can withstand continuous heat exposure up to 400°F (204°C) and intermittent exposure up to 600°F (316°C).
The resistance of RL8226 to many types of oils, most solvents (except ketone and acetone) and other chemicals is outstanding. It has excellent flame resistance. This material has demonstrated conformance to the fireproof requirements of Lockheed-Georgia document D3M900001 (exposure to 2000°F (1093°C) for 15 minutes).
